Weightless

After soaring across landscapes and looking up at the sky, the album descends. The piano feels submerged, like listening to music from the bottom of the ocean, while vocal chops drift like light breaking through the surface.

Behind the Song

"Weightless" is what happens when the album stops flying and starts sinking - in the most beautiful way possible.

After "Reborn" lifted you into the air, "Vast" swept you across the horizon, and "Pillars" pointed you toward the sky, this track takes you in the only direction left: down. Into the deep. The piano is designed to feel submerged - like listening to music from the bottom of the ocean. Every note carries the slight diffusion and warmth of sound traveling through water. The vocal chops drift through the mix like shafts of light breaking through the surface far above.

The "weightless" in the title is literal. This track removes gravity from the listening experience. The downtempo rhythm doesn't drive forward so much as it suspends you in place. There's no urgency. No destination. Just the sensation of floating in something vast and quiet and deep, watching the light play across the ceiling of the world above you.

The most immersive track on the album. Headphones recommended. Eyes closed preferred.
